Wedding: Susannah and Tom Slideshow

So just before my weekend goes all manic I thought I’d put up this slideshow I put together from Susannah and Tom’s wedding earlier this year. It’s a format I’m experimenting with so feel free to let me know what you think in the comments! [flashvideo filename=”../videos/sue.flv” volume=80 width=640 image=”../../../../blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/AlexBeckett_5087._DSC2423_SusannahTom.jpg” height=360 exactfit /] More adventures to come! Alex 😀

Engagement: Jon and Aurelie – Sneak Peek

So autumn is coming! As such we decided it would be a great idea to take Jon and Aurelie out for a quick engagement session before their wedding next year. Turns out Saturday really wasn’t the best choice of a day! Overcast and very windy. Oh well, I think we’re going to try again for better weather soon and once the leaves have turned a little more golden. Until then though here’s a sneak peak of some of the photos […]

Wedding: My year so far…

So it’s been a busy year for me with weddings! Well I’ve had a couple of weeks off recently so I thought I’d put together a quick video of the year so far. Enjoy! [flashvideo filename=”../videos/2009.f4v” volume=80 width=640 image=“../../../../blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/AlexBeckett_5087._DSC2423_SusannahTom.jpg” height=360 exactfit /] More adventures to come! Wedding: Shire Hall, Woodbridge and Hoo. James and Klair

So I’m going to keep this one brief since I’m a touch snowed under by photos at the moment! Anyway Saturday was the turn of Klair and James to get married. I must say I started the day with some trepidation since James is the first friend whose wedding I’ve photographed. Normally my couples know me as a photographer first and foremost so getting down to taking pictures on the day is no biggie. It’s what I’m there for. With […]

Wedding: Woldingham, Surrey – Susannah and Tom

So normally when I go to a wedding I can be pretty darn sure I’ll have the most photography equipment out of everybody there. You can imagine my surprise then when getting close to the wedding venue I passed rows of paparazzi all with huge telephoto lenses at the ready. Fortunately for me it turns out they were actually camped outside Katie Price’s house, a stone’s throw from Susannah’s parents house in Woldingham! I have to say it’s one of […]

Wedding: King's College, Cambridge. Li and Nick

So here’s a conundrum, what do you put in a wedding photoblog post when the couple asks that you refrain from adding any identifiable photos of them? Well I guess we’re about to find out! Saturday was an absolutely perfect day for a wedding. The sun shone down on Nick and Li as they got married in the Cambridge Registry office, then moved on by punt to King’s College for a fab reception. For those of you not from Cambridge, […]

Wedding: New CD boxes are here!

So it turns out the company I used to use for CD folios was a victim of the “credit crunch”. Doh! Anyway I took it as a great opportunity to re-design all of the packaging for my couples who order photo DVDs. Well I’m finally done and here’s the result: The heart of the design is a hand-made CD folio made from recycled linen pressed into paper. This is held in by a blue velvet ribbon, covered in tissue paper […]

Wedding: Emily and Nick – Twyford, Nr Winchester

Edit: Emily and Nick’s wedding website now online! Check it out here. So the British weather decided to do its thing on Saturday. Emily and Nick had arranged to get married in the most beautiful village with picturesque countryside all around. Twyford/Shawford are absolutely gorgeous and I was really looking forward to some fab outdoor photos. That was until Saturday arrived and it started to rain… and rain… and rain. Oh well, despite the rain I had a really great […]

Wedding: Llyndir Hall – Kate and Paul

Edit: Kate and Paul’s wedding website now online! Check it out here. So, sheep, sheep and more sheep. That’s how I always envision Wales. This time however the only sheep were fakes ones in the grounds of Llyndir Hall for Kate and Paul’s wedding. I’m not going to say anything about whether it’s the most tasteful thing to have in your lovely lawns or whether it’s a good thing to prolong the Welsh stereotype but hey, they were kinda cool. […]

Peak District: Rob and Rebecca

So, “Get to the Peak District.” That was the first instruction given to me by fellow photographer Mr Chris Beaumont on Saturday. Following that came; “Get to Heathersage, then drive out of Heathersage, turn left at the Flying Dog pub, go over the hill, far away, over a cattle grid, cross the palm of the helpful sheep then look for the short haired guy standing on a rock.” Useful. Anyway Chris and I then hooked up with Sue Mossey for […]
